Dr. Phil Farese is the CEO of Mojave Energy Systems. Phil’s corporate, consulting, research, and academic experience spans decades and reflects his passion for building energy-efficient products that protect the planet.  
 
Prior to Mojave, Phil held executive, strategy, and research roles at several market-leading institutions including Research Lead and Chief of Staff to the Head of Market Intelligence at Point72 Asset Management, Chief Strategy Officer at Enphase Energy, Head of R&D and CTO at Advantix Systems, and Senior Energy Analyst at National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). He began his corporate career at McKinsey and Company following a three-year research fellowship at Princeton University where he was a Research Fellow and Lecturer in the physics department.  
 
Phil holds dual bachelor's degrees in physics and mathematics from Cornell University, and a Ph.D. in physics from University of California, Santa Barbara.

Rachel Ellman, Vice President of Engineering, Mojave Energy System, is responsible for Mojave’s engineering development of liquid desiccant air conditioning systems. With a decade of experience, Rachel is an expert in modeling and data analysis and speaks a wide range of technical languages. For her leadership in designing a highly efficient liquid desiccant air conditioning system and novel control system to independently control temperature and humidity of supply air, she was named to the 2024 ACHR NEWS Top 40 Under 40.  
 
Prior to joining Mojave, she was part of the Cleantech team at Xerox PARC. Earlier, Rachel worked at SpaceX for six years on the development of a manned spacecraft as a life support systems engineer and flight controller. She was responsible for making trade-offs of mission-critical functions and defining system requirements with a focus on human safety in extreme environments. Rachel’s time at SpaceX culminated in a successful first flight of the spacecraft with humans onboard. For this milestone mission, she served as the spacecraft operator on re-entry and splashdown responsible for propulsion, thermal, and life support system operation.  
 
Rachel holds a Ph.D. in Medical Engineering and Bioastronautics from Harvard/MIT and an S.B. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT. She is the recipient of the National Space Biomedical Research Institute Fellowship, a NASA Harriet G Jenkins Fellowship, and the AIAA Orville and Wilbur Wright Award. Rachel is based in the California Bay Area.

Vice President of Engineering, Mojave Energy Systems

Aaron Meles, Vice President of Product for Mojave Energy Systems, is an engineering and product development leader. He has more than a decade of experience successfully bringing clean energy and environmentally friendly commercial solutions to market.

His technical and operational leadership has been applied to gas turbine combustion, distributed control systems for power generation, fuel cells, HVAC, and industrial equipment. Prior to joining Mojave Energy Systems, Aaron held engineering, manufacturing, and product development roles at a range of organizations dedicated to developing cleantech energy-efficient solutions designed to reduce the impact on climate.

Aaron graduated summa cum laude with his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and received his M.S.M.E. from the University of North Florida, where his research focused on direct methanol fuel cells for military applications. Aaron is based in Michigan.

Robert Fancher, Vice President of Manufacturing, Mojave Energy Systems, is responsible for Mojave’s manufacturing operations based in Anderson, South Carolina. Prior to joining Mojave, Robert held senior leadership positions at Techtronic Industries (TTI), including Sr. Director of Automation, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operational Excellence. Earlier, Robert held several key roles at Husqvarna Group including General Manager, PMO Operational Excellence, and Design Engineering Manager. He began his career at Wilson Heating and Cooling where he supervised a team of HVAC installers and service technicians. 
 
Robert holds a Master of Engineering degree and a Bachelor of Science, in Mechanical Engineering, from the University of South Carolina. He is based in Anderson, South Carolina. 

Robert Fancher

Vice President of Manufacturing, Mojave Energy Systems 
Kyle Troskot, Director of Representative Sales, Mojave Energy Systems, is responsible for representative sales at Mojave. Prior to joining Mojave, Kyle managed Rheem Manufacturing’s commercial unitary distribution in North Texas. Kyle has previous experience as an outside sales engineer at Johnson Controls Canada LP selling their Applied HVAC and Building Automation portfolios and was a BEST (Building Efficiency Sales Training) program graduate.  
 
Kyle is actively engaged in his local ASHRAE chapter as an associate member, currently serving on the Board of Governors as chapter Secretary. He holds an MBA with Beta Gamma Sigma Honors from Southern Methodist University, and a Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University’s Dwight Look College of Engineering.  
 
Kyle is also a 7-time NCAA Division 1 All-American swimmer and former Canadian National Swim Team member. 

Kyle Troskot

Director of Representative Sales, Mojave Energy Systems

Jason Estes, Director of Major Accounts, Mojave Energy Systems, is responsible for overseeing the company’s national direct sales organization. He brings more than 18 years of business development experience at regional and national levels. Prior to joining Mojave, Jason served as Director of Sales at TDIndustries, a facility services and mechanical construction firm. Earlier, he spent more than a decade with Schneider Electric in several key sales management roles for the Building and IT Business division, as well as Small Building Systems and Data Center Solutions.

Jason holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University’s Dwight Look College of Engineering. He has earned Rapport Leadership Breakthrough One status and is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED AP) certified by the US Green Building Council. Jason is based in Texas.
